With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Wilma Mable Hayes O’Driscoll, who left us on March 24, 2025, at her home in Myton, Utah surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born on May 31, 1932, in Altonah, Utah, to William Charles and Isabell Mable Gines Hayes.  Wilma lived a full and vibrant life dedicated to her family, her passions, and her community.
Wilma married Allan J. O’Driscoll, on May 16, 1949.  Together, they reared 7 sons; Dale, Alaska, Jay (Pat) Roosevelt, Utah; Lyle (Terry) Quinten, Oklahoma; Chris (Jerr) Roosevelt, Utah; Franklin (Jodi) Gunnison, Utah; Ellis Promontory, Utah; and 4 daughters, Mary Ellen (Mike) Kettle, St George, Utah; Karen Ashby, Roosevelt, Utah; Janet Grant, Utahn, Utah; Connie (Chark)Young Pony, Montana.
She is preceded in death by husband, Allan and one son, Cornelious, her parents, William and Isabell Hayes, 1 brother and 2 sisters.
Their family continued to grow as they welcomed 33 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren into their lives. Wilma's greatest joy came from her family, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
In addition to her devotion to her family, Wilma found joy in quilting and crocheting, creating beautiful handmade items that will be cherished by her loved ones for generations to come. Her love of ranching and gardening reflected her deep connection to the land and simple pleasures, which included arranging and providing flowers each Sunday for the podium at her church.  She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and found great joy in serving the Lord.
In her later days Wilma enjoyed all the friendships and adventures she had at the Gateway Senior Center and with members of her church.
Wilma's warmth, kindness, and nurturing spirit touched the lives of many. She will be remembered not just for her crafts and hobbies, but for the love she shared with everyone around her.  She loved and supported numerous 4H projects including providing jackets for first place winners in hog showmanship.
Graveside services to honor Wilma’s life will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at the Strawberry Cemetery.  A viewing will be held at the Gateway Senior Center (Gateway Senior Center has recently moved into the same building as the Duchesne County Library, 50 E 100 S) from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m.
The family wishes to express thank you to the many who offered help, brought food and simply came to visit. Again, in lieu of flowers, we're asking for your help to donate to the GoFundMe account https://gofund.me/92ae1d7c set up for her granddaughter to continue her fight against cancer, which includes treatments and a liver transplant. There will also be a donation jar at the viewing.
