Weston Todd Moon, born on January 17, 1994, passed away on July 20, 2024, from a tragic accident. Known for his infectious smile, boundless love, and dedication to his family and friends, Weston leaves a void in the hearts of many who were fortunate enough to know him.
Weston met his true love in 2011, and they married on October 25, 2014. Together, they built a life and a cattle ranch, working side by side as a team. They established Moon Transport, Inc. in 2016 and started trucking livestock. They have three children: Ruby (2016), Zane (2018), and Navy (2023). Weston was an incredible dad, teaching their children to work on the ranch at a young age.
Weston's life was centered around the importance of family. He cherished every moment spent with his wife and children, creating a loving home. He was an avid camper and horse rider, embodying the spirit of a true cowboy and cattleman. Weston had a passion for life that was contagious, always putting others first and never meeting a stranger. His genuine interest in people and his ability to connect made him a friend to all, with countless individuals considering him their best friend.
From a young age, Weston developed a deep love for the land and a strong work ethic on the ranch. Known for his skill in driving trucks, especially his beloved 379 Peterbilt, he hauled livestock and anything else with speed and precision. His dedication earned him the nickname "Godfather of I-80," a proof to the many miles he traveled on that road.
Weston's many qualities were abundant: hard-working, humble, kind, always smiling, trustworthy, ambitious, reliable, and true to his word. He loved to tease and had a playful side, although board games were not his forte because he hated losing.
Weston is survived by his wife, Whitney and their children, Ruby, Zane, and Navy. He is also survived by his mother, Camille Lefler (John), father, Todd Moon (Brandy), and brothers, Collin (Katie), Garrett, and Dillon. His mother-in-law, Stephanie Christensen, and brothers-in-law, William Dewey Christensen (Shelby) and Tyson D. Christensen (Shelby), along with many other family members and friends.
Preceding him in death are his grandfather, Alton Moon, father-in-law, William Dale Christensen, grandfather-in-law, Bill Christensen, and grandmother, Kathy Lefler.
Weston's family expresses their deepest gratitude to his friends, first responders, medical staff and life flight for their care during this difficult time. Weston's decision to be an organ donor will help many others.
Funeral services to celebrate Weston's life will be held at the Altamont Stake Center on Monday, July 29, 2024 at 11:00 am. Viewings will be held at the church on Sunday evening, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm and Monday from 9:30 – 10:45 am. Burial will be in the Altamont-Mt. Emmons Cemetery.
