Wayne Zufelt, age 75, of Gusher, passed away at his home on Tuesday, May 22, 2018.
He was born November 4, 1942, in Ogden, Utah to Tony and Delores Marie Hackford Zufelt. He was the 2nd oldest of six kids. He loved his brothers and his baby sister, even though he was such a tease – that’s how you knew he really loved you.
He married Evey Aranda and they later divorced. He married Joy Lin “2-T McDonald on December 14, 1992. She died June 19, 2005. He met Nancy E. Stewart and they have been together for five years.
Family was very important to Wayne, and he tried his hardest to go and visit whenever he got the chance. Visiting with people was one of his favorite things in the world. If you went with him to the grocery store, be prepared to spend longer than planned. It seemed like he knew everyone he came in contact with.
His kids were his world and he was so proud of their accomplishments. He threw them in to every conversation and bragged about them every chance he got. Grandkids made his life even more full of love.
Wayne was a horse trader and loved finding a good deal. When you traded with him, you were always expected to pay “Boot.” Whichever kid was with him when he was making the transaction was expected to hop on the horse and “See what it was.”
He worked in the oil field for many years and loved what he did. If you drove past a rig, he could tell you what kind of rig it was and what it did.
Wayne is survived by his partner, Nancy E. Stewart; children, Tina Zufelt (Joe Iorg), Sandra (Curtis) Luxton; Michael (Cathy) Zufelt; Bridget Zufelt (Molly Dreckman); Tammy McArthur Smith (Jake Clark); Bailey Zufelt (Stuart Manary); Hope Zufelt (Jefferson Anyanwu); 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Toni Marie (Mike) Baker; Richard (Jean) Zufelt; Ray (Pat) Zufelt; Ken (Rose) Zufelt; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joy Lin; parents, Delores and Tony; brother, Theron, daughter, Heidi and granddaughter, LesLee.
