Wally Roberts

Waltraud Vera "Wally" Schroeder Roberts, age 76, of Duchesne, passed away August 4, 2015, at the Uintah Basin Senior Villa.
She was born October 25, 1938, in Germany, to Albert and Gretta Schroeder. She married William "Bill" Robert Roberts in Elko, Nevada, in 1967. He died May 29, 2010.
Wally was a loving and caring woman of faith. She was baptized into the Southern Baptist Church in 1987, and then was a Pastor's Wife for the next 23 years until her husband's death. She loved the Lord more than anything and was a caretaker of everyone. She never met a person she didn't like. She taught Sunday school and was the director of the Vacation Bible School. She adored children and teaching them the gospel - she even had a booth at the Duchesne County Fair where she would help the kids memorize a scripture and then reward them with a piece of candy. She was also part of the Foster Grandparent program at Duchesne Elementary. She had a great sense of humor that she kept to the very end. She enjoyed talking with anyone, knitting, sewing, and was crazy about hummingbirds. She will be greatly missed by her son and friends, and is deeply loved.
Wally is survived by her son, James E. Prentice, Duchesne; a sister, Doris Tafoya, Salt Lake City; good friends, Pastor John and his wife, Cindy Madsen, of Roosevelt; and Pastor Scott and his wife Susan Sloan, of Michigan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; and a sister, Irene.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Duchesne where a visitation will be held one hour prior to the services.
Burial will be in the Duchesne City Cemetery.
