Verden Christopher Heaton, Sr., age 91, passed away March 28, 2019 at his home in Ballard. Verden went from the loving arms of his family, to the loving arms of his eternal sweetheart Alice.
He was born January 16, 1928 in Alton, Utah to Wilford Allen and Ina Glover Heaton. He married Alice May Andersen on October 28, 1949 in the St. George Temple. Together they raised 8 children. She died July 22, 2009.
Verden’s greatest love was his family, followed closely by his love for his Savior and the restored gospel. He served faithfully in the church in many capacities, being called twice as Bishop and also was a Stake Patriarch in two stakes. One of his great loves was his service in the Vernal Utah Temple, especially when his family was attending.
Verden loved to serve everyone he met. He was the ultimate example of unconditional love. He will be missed, and his family are blessed to know that he is well and happy with those who were waiting for him.
He is survived by his children, Ina (Paul) Nielson, Roosevelt; Jesse (Terry) Clark, Dewey, AZ:, Jerri (Dallas) Harrison, Roosevelt; Chris (Connie) Heaton, Roosevelt; David (Debbie) Clark, Roosevelt; Virginia Roybal, Ballard, Tina (Brian) Daniels, Ballard, son-in-law, Allen Betts, Ballard; 33 grandchildren, and 96 great grandchildren. His siblings, Eldred (LaVon) Heaton, Lamoine (Kerri) Heaton, sister-in-law, Hilda Heaton, brothers- and sisters-in-law, Dale & Glenna Andersen, and Olie & Joyce Andersen.
He was preceded in death by his sweetheart, Alice May Heaton, daughter, Verdene Betts, son-in-law, Billy Davis, grandchildren, CJ Seeley, Shauntae Welborn, brother, Jim Heaton, in-laws, Joyce & Glen Mac Murdock, and Carla & Woody Woodbury.
