Tonia Gerken

    Tonia Holmes Gerken, age 74, of Roosevelt, passed away January 25, 2025, at her home.
    She was born June 12, 1950, in Roosevelt, Utah, to Norman and Eva Harris Holmes.
    Tonia was a very special woman whose main purpose in life was to listen to and help other people.  She had worked in the bakery at Davis Jubilee, as a clerk at the liquor store, as a receptionist at the Bottle Hollow Resort, and through it all she was a tarot card reader.  She was an avid reader and was a “cornucopia of useless knowledge.”  She was giving to a fault and would help anyone.  She was very much loved and will be deeply missed.
    Tonia is survived by her son, Dane Gerken, Roosevelt; grandchildren, Ryddian & Rhyanna Gerken, Kyra Sheehan; great-grandchild, Dakota Jones; an aunt Elva Gardner, Roosevelt and sister-by-choice, Linda Jacobs; along with nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Susy Smith.
    Per her wishes, she will be cremated and a memorial service will be held some time near her birthday.
