Ted Earl Tucker, age 79, of Duchesne, passed away March 6, 2015, at his home.
He was born December 12, 1935, in Cleveland, Utah, to Vance and Edna Mae Atwood Tucker. He married the love of his life, Jessie Lenore Behunin on October 11, 1955, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Together they had five children, and raised one of their granddaughters.
Ted was a very truthful man. He was a hard worker who always did his best with everything. He worked as a store manager in Price and for the last thirty-five years as a postal worker, retiring only this past January. He was a very trusted man, had unconditional love for everyone, and took care of anyone in need. He had a keen mind and could remember everyone he met, not only their names but the circumstances in which they met. His sense of humor was one-of-a-kind, and he often told the same joke many times – getting the same joy each time he told it. He enjoyed studying, gardening, fixing things, and making whatever his wife asked him to.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served, among other things, in a couple of Bishoprics, various High Priest Group Leaderships, and as ward clerk. He was an ordinance worker in the Vernal Temple, Albuquerque, NM, Temple, and the Provo Temple.
Ted had an unconditional love for, and adored all of his children and grandchildren. He cherished his wife and took care of her every need and want.
He tried his best to please everyone and everyone whom he met, loved him. He had the gift of Love.
Ted is survived by his loving wife, Jessie of almost 60 years, children, Joy Ann (Lee) Fugal, Kimball Ted (Mary) Tucker, Richard LeGrande (Diane) Tucker, Gay Lynn (Max) Wendel, Timothy Craig (Luann) Tucker, Candace Tucker Allred, 45 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Mae Lake, Edith Anderson, Vardell (Pauline) Tucker, Edward Allen (Linda) Tucker, and numerous other inlaws, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by an infant child; siblings, Dorene Christensen, Douglas Vance Tucker, Gerald Dean Tucker, Benjamin Tucker, and William Van Tucker.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015, at 10:00 a.m., at the Duchesne 1st and 3rd Ward LDS Chapel. There will be a viewing at the church on Friday from 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday from 9-9:45 a.m.
Burial will be in the Cleveland Cemetery
