Ted Throckmorton, age 82, of Duchesne, Utah, passed away on May 12, 2023, at his home.
He was born on October 8, 1940, in Murray, Utah, to Jospeh Cecil and Gertie Jensen Throckmorton.
Ted led an unusually adventurous life. Fighting polio as a boy, he gained strength in the gym. That led to him boxing competitively by age 14. His strength grew as a cowboy, then he joined the army, becoming a Special Operations Recon Airborne Army Ranger. He then served as a police officer, a zookeeper, a bounty hunter, and a bouncer and bodyguard for several clients. The majority of his career was spent as an Accident Reconstruction Specialist for the Salt Lake City Department of Transportation.
Ted shared his passion of fishing with people he loved. He was a highly skilled blacksmith and so much more. The best part about all of his adventures were the stories. He said “I never told a story without a principal behind it.”
Most importantly as a father, he shared his wisdom, demonstrated life skills, and loved and accepted his children wholeheartedly. For that we couldn’t feel more blessed.
Ted is survived by his wife, Annette Lynne Throckmorton; sister, Connie Smith (Steve); children: Victoria, Richard (Roxanne), Cherie, Cathy (Butch), Aimee, Lauralyn, Chierstin (Jason), Taralee (Anand); step children: Ronnie (Raelynn), Randy, and Heidi; and many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Joan, Dee, Bonnie, and his beloved dog, Stick.
