Susan Marie Purdom, age 72, of Duchesne, peacefully passed away in her home on February 25, 2023, surrounded by family.
She was born May 16, 1950, in El Paso, Texas, to Donald Elmer and Phyllis Marie Cracroft West. She grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah where she met her first husband, Larry Josewski. Together, they had two children: Shawnee & Chad. Later, she, married Ronald "Waterbed" Purdom. She and Waterbed ran Texas Reds restaurant in Park City for many years. In her senior years, she rekindled her relationship with Larry. They remained together until Larry's passing in 2017.
Susie was the life of the party. There was nothing she enjoyed more than laughing, dancing, and partying with her family and the friends she adopted as family. Sue loved to travel; and especially treasured being at Defa's Dude Ranch and going on cruises with her sisters. Susie was known to treat herself with beautiful clothing, jewelry, and perfume. In later years, she enjoyed watching classic movies, a good smoke, and a vodka/7 on the rocks.
Susan is survived by her son, Chad Josewski; grandchildren, Brittany & Megan Josewski; great-grandchildren, Sammy & Violet; children by choice, Levi (Teresa) Higgs; Ginger Higgs, Rose Higgs; sisters, Karen "KB" Thompson, Duchesne; Judy (Juan) Amillategui, Roosevelt; numerous loved nieces and nephews; and her dog, Sadie.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Shawnee Josewski; parents; siblings, Donald, John, Jackie, Michael, Steven, & Robert West; and her beloved dog, Tucker.
A viewing will be held on Friday, March 3, 2023, from 2-4 p.m. at the Hullinger Mortuary. Following the viewing, she will be cremated, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
