Susan Lemon

Susan's Funeral Service will be live-streamed here.

Susan Lemon, age 60, of Ioka, Utah, passed away from health complications on 8 September 2021 in Provo, Utah. She was born 9 April 1961 in Roosevelt, Duchesne County, Utah to Boyd Reed Lemon and Ola Tess Goodrich.
As the youngest daughter in an Air Force family, Susan attended elementary schools in various places: Clark AFB in the Philippines, Great Falls, MT, Plattsmouth and Bellevue, NE, and Roosevelt, UT. She attended junior high and high school in Roosevelt, UT, graduating from Union High School in 1979. In high school she participated in choir and track. She also traveled and performed in Europe with America’s Youth in Concert. After high school she attended Dixie State College.
In 1980 Susan married Cal Huber and they were blessed with three children: Colby, Makita and Wesley. They later divorced and she moved her family to Logan, UT, so she could attend Utah State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in Parks and Recreation.
Over the course of her life Susan worked for different employers, the Forest Service being her favorite. At the time of her death she was employed as the office manager at Cedarview-Montwell Special Service District. She always worked hard at whatever she did.
Susan was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved the Lord and served faithfully in many callings throughout her lifetime. She especially enjoyed playing the piano in Primary. She was thrilled to attend the temple with her oldest grandson when he was of age to participate in temple service.
Susan’s greatest treasure was her family. They loved to spend time together, whether it was recreation outdoors or at home, working in the yard, or singing while she played the piano, guitar or ukulele. Time spent with family was time well spent. She took her children to sing to residents at the care center, one of many ways she used her talents to serve others. She and her family invited others to join them at Sunday dinner, something she looked forward to each week.
Susan believed and lived her life according to these teachings in the Book of Mormon: “When ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God (Mosiah 2:17).” She was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend. Her family relied on her strength through many trials. Her siblings are grateful for her dedication to serving their parents with tenderness and loving care during the late years of their lives.
To know Susan was to love her. She had a beautiful smile, an infectious laugh, and a twinkle in her eye. She would laugh until she cried. And we all loved laughing with her.
Susan is survived by her children, Colby (Cortney) Huber, Makita Huber, Wesley Huber, four grandsons, Brayden, Kaleb, Aiden and Zader, siblings: John (Raneva) Lemon, Edna (Thomas) Washburn, James (Louise) Lemon, Charles (Marianne) Lemon, Ethel (David) Oswald, Kathie (Mark) Schofield, and Rickie (Miriam) Lemon, numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents,, grandparents, and a nephew, Timothy Lemon.
