Sue Ann Newman (formerly Crozier), a cherished sister, mother, grandmother, and friend, departed from this world on Friday, December 29, 2023, in Elwood, Utah, at the age of 55.
She was born on October 6, 1968, in Roosevelt, Utah, to her parents, Douglas and JoAnn Callister Miles.
As the second of six children, Sue Ann shared her life's journey with Layne (Jayne) Miles, Janet (Ross) Clark, Thomas D, Marjory (John) Howes, Charles (Wendy). From the very beginning, her life was marked by a unique grace, a harmonious blend of grit inherited from her father and beauty and grace from her mother.
In her formative years, Sue Ann nurtured a rich tapestry of talents, including modeling, singing, speech, and drama. Endowed with a beautiful voice and a natural aptitude for singing, she discovered immense joy in gracing local plays and musicals with her performances. Sue Ann possessed a keen sense of style, always dressing impeccably and finding delight in dressing up.
Her artistic spirit found expression in the verses of poems and the pages of several unpublished novels, creating a lasting legacy of inspiration. A masterful storyteller, Sue Ann intricately wove narratives that captivated all fortunate enough to hear them, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those touched by her tales.
Sue Ann's life was distinguished by a profound sense of service, as she embraced numerous callings with unwavering dedication and devotion. Her journey was marked by the cultivation of meaningful friendships and the cherishing of connections that endured a lifetime. Sue Ann's unwavering faith and dedication were evident in her God-driven spirit. It was often remarked that she walked with one foot in heaven, embodying a deep and abiding connection to the divine.
A skilled interior designer, Sue Ann, like her mother, transformed spaces into true masterpieces and havens. Designing, building, and renovating several homes, she left her unique touch on each project, incorporating antiques into the design. Her creativity and passion for design were evident in the beauty she brought to every corner.
Sealed in the Provo Temple on September 10, 1988, Sue Ann married Kelly Crozier Jr. on September 27, 1986. Though their paths later diverged, their union brought forth three beautiful children who became the center of Sue Ann's world. Ashley (Kolby) Hoover, Brendon (Tiffany), and Weston (Chelsea) were the recipients of her boundless love and care. Sue Ann found immense joy in sewing for her babies, cheering them on in their sports endeavors, and celebrating their accomplishments. The arrival of grandchildren brought an additional layer of happiness to Sue Ann's life. She adored Brooke Hoover, Tyler Hoover, Brody Crozier, Brystle Crozier, Tucker Crozier, and Sutton Crozier, showering them with love and making every moment together precious.
On June 16, 2023, Sue Ann married Tommy Ray Newman, adding a new chapter to her life. Their union brought another layer of happiness, and together they navigated life's journey, creating cherished memories.
Sue Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Douglas and JoAnn Miles, as well as her grandson, Brody Crozier. After losing Brody, Sue Ann felt a calling to help others going through the loss of a baby, leading her to establish Brody’s Fund in his memory.
As we bid our farewells, let us remember Sue Ann for the warmth, love, and creativity she brought into our lives. She leaves behind a tapestry of memories, a testament to a life well-lived and a heart well-loved.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Altamont Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. There will be a visitation on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the Hullinger Mortuary and at the church on Friday from 10-10:45 a.m.
Burial will be in the Altamont Cemetery.
