Steve Runninbear James

    Steve Runninbear James, age 35, passed away in Vernal, Utah on May 7, 2024.
    Steve was born July 3, 1988 in Roosevelt to Rachel Marie James.  
    Steve enjoyed traveling, listening to music, watching UFC, driving fast, camping, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family. He had a great personality and loved to joke and laugh with others. He cherished his “fur babies”.
    He is survived by his siblings, Carlos James, Jeffrey James, Sasha Antonio, Carly Uncapiuke, grandparents, Angelita Checup, Carlos James, Jr., and aunts and uncles, Carlena James, Carla James, Carmen James, Brandon Ficarra, and TJ Sowsonicut; and fur-babies, “Wee Bear” and “Mama.”
    He was preceded in death by his mother, Rachel, grandmother, Vickie Sowsonicut, cousin, Tyrell Sowsonicut, sister, Autumn Tapoof, and niece Lala Antonio.
    Funeral services will be held Monday, May 13, 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Whiterocks Community Building. A wake will be held after 3:00 PM on Sunday at the same location.
    Burial will be in the John Harmes Cemetery.
