Soraya Elaine Wyasket, age 40, of Gusher, passed away April 21, 2020, at the University of Utah Hospital after a long illness.
She was born January 24, 1980, in Roosevelt, to Theodore Wyasket, Sr. and Bertha John Wyasket. She was raised by Ron and Debbie Basham. She married Joseph Reyes, and they later divorced.
Soraya was a talented artist who drew beautiful pencil portraits. She also enjoyed singing, playing the piano, shopping in the city, and seeing the lights on Temple Square during the Christmas season. She graduated from Union High School where she was a runner-up in the Miss Indian Union competition.
Soraya is survived by her children, Jayda Reyes (Keelan Tracey), West Jordan; Emmarie Reyes, Roosevelt; Zayli Sinoben, Vernal; McLane Wood & Holton Larsen, both of Roosevelt; foster-parents, Ron & Debbie Basham, Gusher; brothers and sisters, Blossom (Daniel) Barney, Orem; Dotsy Wyasket, Draper; Telly Wyasket, Logan, Ty (Carrie) Basham, Weldon Raines; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, John Fightingbear, and a sister, Latoya Wyasket.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at the Ft. Duchesne Cemetery. There will not be a wake, but there will be viewings Thursday and Friday at the Hullinger Mortuary until 6 p.m. both days and there will be a final viewing at the cemetery.
