Sherwin Isaac “Perk” Cook, age 70, of Bluebell, passed away January 28, 2020, at the Uintah Basin Medical Center.
He was born May 18, 1949, in Ioka, to James Christopher “Chris” and Grace Bird Cook. He married Sandra Kay Meeks on January 11, 1977, in Bluebell and they were sealed January 11, 1996 in the Provo Temple.
Sherwin was a cowboy through and through, and spent most of his life on the back of a horse working cattle for many people, most notably for Shorty Hatch and the Dry Gulch Cattleman Company. He enjoyed being in the mountains, fishing, camping with the family, and swimming from the back of a horse in his younger days. He was also a horse and wagon driver and had been on many wagon trains which traveled all over the state, including one from Logan to Cedar City. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He loved his family and they were the most important thing in his life.
Sherwin is survived by his wife of forty-three years, Sandra; children, Isaac James Cook, Charleah Jo Brown, Nicole Rose Cook, all of Bluebell; 12 grandchildren; brother, Dean (Colleen) Cook, St. George; a sister-in-law, Marie Cook, Afton, Wyoming; mother-in-law, Barbara Meeks, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Edwin, Alonzo, Laura May and Angela Lee.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 3, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at the Altamont Stake Center where a viewing will be held that morning from 9:30-10:45 a.m.
Burial will be in the Bluebell Cemetery.
