Shay Lee Affleck, our “Superman!”, age 46, of Roosevelt, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2020, at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo due to COVID-19.
He was born on March 24, 1974, in Roosevelt, to Randy “Duke” and Marilyn “Moe” Peterson Affleck. He married Dana Shelton and they later divorced.
Shay had a heart of gold and a smile that could brighten even the worst of days. His laugh was contagious, and he had a way of lifting you up when you needed it most. He was a hard worker and a great provider for his two daughters, Shelby and Peyton, who he loved with all his heart. Family was everything to Shay. He was an avid Superman fan and loved the Superman logo. He loved watching anything to do with Superman and even had the logo tattooed on his arm. He was a homebody and loved to binge watch Game of Thrones and Grey’s Anatomy with his daughters and multiple friends. His kind heart led him to rescue his four favorite cats: Milo, Shewolf, Nala, and Bubba.
Shay spent many nights awake playing video games with his favorite cousin, Darin Parr, who was more like a brother to him. Losing Shay leaves a huge hole in our hearts. He will be greatly missed and will never be forgotten.
Shay is survived by his daughters, Shelby and Peyton Affleck, Vernal; his aunt and uncle, Connie and Eddie Parr, Myton, whom he considered his second parents; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Randy and Marilyn, and his “little big” brother, Chad Affleck.
Due to COVID restrictions, the funeral services will be for immediate family only. Masks will be required. The funeral services will be live streamed at this link or the button below Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hullinger Mortuary with a viewing from 9:30-10:45 a.m.

Fly high, our Superman!
