Schuyler Murphy

    Lewis Schuyler Murphy, age 84, of Ballard, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2017 at his home with his loving wife of 65 years.
    Schuyler was born February 6, 1933 in Olney, Illinois to Lewis Edward and Blanche R Brooks Murphy.  He married Joyce Padgett on May 25, 1952.
    Schuyler served in the Army during the Korean War, earning two purple hearts.  He enjoyed playing music, singing, bowling, working in his garden and flower beds, and was an awesome painter, mostly working with oils.  He was a boy scout leader and also coached little league baseball when he was younger.  He loved his family, they were the most important thing to him and he delighted in spending time with each of them as they went fishing, camping, and doing family outings.  He owned and operated Murphy Save More.  
    He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joyce Murphy, children, Cindi Harris, Dallas (Katherine) Murphy, Patrick Murphy, Bonnie (Todd) Johnson, Danny Murphy, Bruce (Katrina) Murphy, 17 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and special friends, Brandee Rasmussen and Randolph Hackford.   He is also survived by his siblings, Anna Mae Coulter, Ron (Cindy) Murphy, Edwin (Christie) Murphy, Don (Frances) Murphy, Larry (Vicki) Murphy, Rowena Burcham, and Carolyn (Garry) Mitchell.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Michael Scott Murphy, granddaughters, Charity Lynn Murphy, Courtney Faith Murphy, and siblings, Iris Parks, Glenna Clark, John Murphy, T.J. Murphy, Elizabeth Murphy, August Edward Murphy, Ronella Murphy, and Robert Lewis Murphy.
    Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 12:00 Noon at the Roosevelt Baptist Church.  A viewing will be held 1 hour prior to the service.
    Burial in the Roosevelt Memorial Park with military honors presented by the Roosevelt American Legion, Utah National Guard, and the Patriot Guard Riders.
