Samuel Wacker

Samuel Louis Wacker, age 81, of Bluebell, passed away November 5, 2015, at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo.
He was born March 11, 1934, in Ft. Morgan, Colorado, to Samuel John and Christina Schmear Wacker. In the early 1950's, he quit school to join the military, being stationed in Germany for the US Army.
In his early life, he worked for 14 years at the Test Site near Las Vegas, Nevada, as one of the persons who drilled test holes that the atomic bombs were tested in. He worked all over the country and finally landed in the Uintah Basin. In 1977, he started "Four Star Fishing and Rental Tools", an oil field service company. He met his wife, Glenda Carolyn "Tippy" Thomas, when she came to work for him. They were married in 1982, in the yard of their Bluebell home. He spent a lot of his work time inventing oil field tools, and has three US Patents.
Sam enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, and collecting old Mustangs. When he was younger, he was a stock car racer, and liked raising and riding horses. He has a great fondness for cats, his favorite being "Baby".
He was a great husband and father, and he never met a stranger - everyone was his friend.
Sam is survived by his wife, Tippy, of Bluebell; brothers and sisters, Marjorie (Ernie) Poe, Sharon Springs, KS: Bernice Turcott, Ft. Morgan, CO; JoAnn (Ronald) Windolph, Hill Rose, CO; Grace (Louis) Davis, Wendell (Margaret) Wacker, Edwin (Barb) Wacker; all of Ft. Morgan; step-children, Barton Lee (Tara) Butcher, Casper, WY; Bradley (Stephanie) Butcher, Glyndon, MN; daughter-in-law, Leslie Bonnie (Mark) Udy, Salt Lake City; 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Lillian Wacker Longacre; parents, Samuel and Christina; and his favorite cat, Bubba, that he had to put down after 20 years.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2015, from 6-8 p.m. at the Hullinger Mortuary. There will be a graveside service at a later date in the Riverside Cemetery located at Ft. Morgan, Colorado.
