Sam R. Mitchell

Sam R. Mitchell, age 59, of Bennett, died July 7, 2016, at home in his cabin.

He was born July 30, 1956, in Roosevelt, to Leland R and Ireta Black Mitchell.

Sam was a truly unique person - one that after meeting him, you NEVER forgot. He lived a full life doing what he wanted to do. He was the first one most of the neighbors would call if they needed help and he would go and do it. He was a farmer/rancher all of his life, even though he worked off the ranch at times.

He was an accomplished musician, playing fiddle, guitar, mandolin, harmonica and various other instruments. He will be deeply missed.

Sam is survived by his brothers, John of Bennett; Victor Hank of Roosevelt; Alonzo of Rozet, Wyoming; and Mont of Bennett.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a special uncle, Vic; and a very special nephew, Trent "Buck" Mitchell.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2016, at 11:00 a.m., at the Hullinger Mortuary. There will be a viewing on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.

Burial will be in the Roosevelt Memorial Park.
