Ryan James Mitchell, age 38, died unexpectedly on May 22, 2021.
He was born April 6, 1983 in Vernal Utah to Glade Henry and Debra Fausett Mitchell. Ryan was raised in the Uintah Basin, he graduated from Union High School in May 2002.
Ryan was a great kid and always had a story to tell, he loved to fish, hunt and hike. He went on many backpacking trips with family into the High Uintahs, he also loved the mountains of Montana and Wyoming. His backpacking trips included the Chain Lakes, Fox Lake, Fox Lake in Wyoming and Mystic Lake Montana (the family favorite). Ryan hiked the Beaten Path Trail from above Cooke City Wyoming across the Absaroka/Beartooth range 26 miles to East Rosebud Montana.
Ryan loved family and family get-togethers, he talked about them for months. He loved to walk and was always needing new shoes.
Ryan was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, he served a service mission for the Church. He married Kacey Fieldsted daughter of Gary and Sheila Fieldsted in the Vernal Temple on Saturday, June 25, 2005, the marriage was later annulled.
Ryan was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder in 2001. He dealt with many trials throughout his life. Ryan’s Doctors found a great combination of medicines that worked well for him and for the last couple of years he felt more like his old self. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the multitude of medical professionals who served Ryan throughout his life, a special thanks to Northeastern Counseling in Roosevelt and Vernal.
Ryan is survived by his parents, Glade and Debra of Ballard; three sisters: Kiera (Santos) Torres of San Juan TX; Casey (Daniel) Moran of Rangely CO; Lindsey (Allen) Martinez of Naples UT; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
