Rosella “Grams” Myore Conetah, age 84, of Myton, passed away February 5, 2015 at the Promise Hospital in Salt Lake City.
Rosella was born January 24, 1931 in Ouray to John Troop and Abby Wissiup Myore. She married Fred Andrew Conetah in 1949, he died June 21, 1980.
Rosella attended Avalon Elementary School, then the Boarding School in Whiterocks. She loved to play basketball and belonged to the “Over the Hill” Women’s team. She liked to shop and travel, she went to many states through the years. She liked to attend the Pow Wow, and Bear Dance. One of her favorite past times was to tell her family and others her stories of her childhood. She enjoyed going camping, fishing, hunting, playing cards and helping her husband with bailing hay, irrigation and the cattle. She loved to watch sports, even a college game, her favorite teams were the Utah Jazz and the Atlanta Braves.
Family was most important to her and she delighted in spending time with them. She loved each one of her family members and would do anything for them. Grams had a wonderful sense of humor and liked to share a good joke. She was a strong lady who knew what she wanted and she wouldn’t hesitate to tell you what she was thinking. She loved her dogs, Rico, Upa Chunee and Old Man.
She is survived by her children, MaryLee (Alvin) Longhair, Indian Bench; Wilford Conetah, Myton; MarieAnne (Gilbert) Gardner, Indian Bench; Byron (Crystal) Conetah, Roosevelt; Francine (Maynard) Pete, Bradley (Vida) Conetah, both of Myton; Douglas (Arvilla) Conetah, Elko, NV; Doyle Conetah, Fredella Conetah, Amaryllis (Julian) Pinkham, all of Myton; 37 grandchildren, 71 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Fred, children, Rosanna Conetah, John Conetah, grandchildren, Jason Conetah, Anita Honwyewa, Mayleen Pete, great granddaughter, Patricia Ridley, siblings, Frank Myore, William B. Myore, Arlene M. Tabbee, Salina Myore, Nema Appawoo, a infant sibling. She was also preceded in death by her best friends, Ina Chapoose, Marietta Reed, Louise Cuch and Francis Mountain Lion.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, February 9, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Myton Cemetery.
A wake will be held after 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at her home.
