Mrs. Rosalie Kay Wilkins, age 83, of Duchesne died peacefully at her home surrounded by her family Saturday, February 25, 2023.
She was born December 19, 1939, in Greeley, Colorado, the daughter of Otto Sylvanus Beckenhauer and Athlyn Lucille Perrigo.
She grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and attended school there. She graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1957.
She was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at the age of twelve and remained a faithful member throughout her whole life. She lived an exemplary life of faith in Jesus Christ.
She married Leon A Wilkins in the Salt Lake Temple on January 23, 1959. They were the parents of ten children, Tammy Gudmunson of Thatcher, Utah; Marlon Wilkins of Payson, Utah; Linda Mullins of West Valley City, Utah; Janean Reynoso of Murrieta, California; Corinne Wilkins-Ketterer of Duchesne, Utah; Jennifer Mitchell of Salem, Utah; Matt Wilkins of Saratoga Springs, Utah; Debbie Armstrong of Nephi, Utah; Scott Wilkins of Saratoga Springs, Utah; and Amber Wagner of Vernal, Utah.
In her early adulthood she worked as a telephone operator for the Mountain Bell Telephone Company. She enjoyed operating the switchboard and connecting callers together.
She was a wonderful homemaker. She worked hard every day taking care of her family. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved dancing, listening to music, trying new recipes, watching Hallmark movies, playing games, and diamond painting.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon A. Wilkins, sister, Peggy Rieck, brother, Roger Beckenhauer, grandson, Christian Reynoso, great-grandson, Cash Bevan, and son-in-law, John Armstrong.
She is survived by her brothers, Michael Luzier of Las Vegas, Nevada; and David Luzier of Canton, Georgia; ten children, thirty-nine grandchildren, and nineteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Duchesne 1st and 3rd Ward Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Viewings will be held at the church on Friday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 12:30 – 1:45 p.m.
Burial will be in the Duchesne City Cemetery.
