Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, Ronald John Liddell, age 87, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at his home.
Ron was born December 3, 1929 in Antelope (Duchesne County) to Abraham John and Mary Liberty Brundage Liddell. He married Carol Taylor on September 14, 1953 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Ron served in the Army from 1953 - 1955.
Ron was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, he served a mission as a young man in the North Western State Mission. Later with his sweetheart by his side they served in the Atlanta Georgia Temple. He held many callings through the years, serving on the High Council, as a Bishop, and working in the Provo, Vernal and Atlanta Temples.
As a boy he learned to farm and always enjoyed working with the land and animals. He worked as a social worker for 30 years. He liked to read, ride his motorcycle and after retirement one of his favorite past times was camping at Yellow Pine with his family. He loved being a grandfather and family was everything to him.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Liddell, Roosevelt; Michael (Carla) Liddell, Corinth, TX; LaNette (Florin) Owens, Cedar City; Marcus (Connie) Liddell, Mountain Home; Jody (Jean) Liddell, Roosevelt; Roy Liddell, Vernal; Ray (Teresa) Liddell, Myton, 26 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren with 2 more on the way, and his sisters, JaNae Brown, Sandy; and Karren Opfar, Spanish Fork.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Adam Liddell, granddaughter, Emily Liddell, brother, Rulon Liddell and brother-in-law, Glenn Brown.
Funeral services held on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Roosevelt East Stake Center. Viewings will be held on Monday evening at the Hullinger Mortuary from 6 - 8 p.m. and Tuesday at the church 1 hour prior to the service.
Burial in the Roosevelt Memorial Park with military honors presented by the Roosevelt American Legion and the Utah National Guard.
