Roland Dee Horrocks, age 60 of Roosevelt, Utah passed away on December 8, 2023
peacefully surrounded by his family at The Villa in Roosevelt. Roland was born September 20, 1963 at Fort Wolters in Mineral Wells, Texas, to Floyd A. and Maxine Porter Horrocks of Neola, Utah.
Roland was blessed with a beautiful daughter, Emerald Rose. She meant the world to him and she was his world.
Roland graduated from Union High School and shortly after he enlisted into the Army.
He drove truck for Swift Trucking and traveled the country from California to New York and never got lost. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christof Latter-Day Saints and had gone through the temple.
His enjoyments were playing basketball at the park with friends, watching the Utah Jazz, and designing cars out of Lego. What he really liked to do was talk and shake hands with everyone, whether he knew you are not. His greatest enjoyment of all was the time he spent with his daughter, Emerald. They played video games and watched movies together. They were always together. He enjoyed being part of everything around him until his health declined.
Roland is survived by his daughter Emerald of Roosevelt Utah; sisters, Dianna McClees (Chad) of West Jordan Utah, Lillian Hancock of Vernal, Utah; brother Steven Horrocks (Jennifer) of Neola, Utah; along with many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his ex-wives, Racheal Horrocks of Roosevelt, Utah (mother of his daughter Emerald) and Christina McKee Horrocks of Duchesne, Utah.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother in laws Bob Worthen and Mike Hancock; nieces Teresina and Valadina; nephew Sean; and a great nephew, Sean.
His daughter Emerald and family want to give thanks to everyone at The Villa in Roosevelt for the care and kindness they gave Roland.
There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date under the direction of Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home, in the spring when the weather is good. We will post and send out word when the date is set.
