Roger Frank Griffin, age 78, of Neola, passed away March 12, 2020, at his home.
He was born November 19, 1941, in Roosevelt, to Frank Revola and Dora Elizabeth Iorg Griffin. He grew up at the Whiterocks Fish Hatchery and loved helping his dad stock the lakes in the High Uintahs. His family has been camping at the same spot for almost 70 years and now it’s known as “Griffin’s Corner.”
He married Marilyn Daniels and they have been together for over 50 years.
Roger worked in the oilfield for many years, first as a tool fisher, then as a derrick hand, and as a wireline specialist. He enjoyed muzzle load hunting, being in the mountains, pulling the kids on their sleds with his jeep, and riding horses. He and the family often helped move cows for Frank Arrowchis and Max Patry. He loved his family and being with them.
Roger is survived by his wife, Marilyn, of Neola; children, Charilyn (Gary) Scholes, Ioka; Bennito Van, Neola; Avery Scott Van, Neola; Sydney (Laura) Griffin, Upalco; Gina (Milton) Miller, Ioka; Monique (Ken) Wilkinson, Sitka, AK; 16 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Jerry Kilburn, Pasadena, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a grandson, Chad Tomaino.
Per his wishes he will be cremated and his remains will be scattered in the mountains. There will be no services.
The family wishes to thank Good Shepherd Hospice, Nurse Harmony, Doctor Sara Daniel and all the others for helping with and being so kind to our dad and family.
