Robert “Bob” C. Johnson, age 91, of Myton, passed away November 30, 2017.
Born on March 12, 1926 in Chicago, IL. He was adopted by his parents; Carl and Delorez Johnson in 1930. He is survived by his Son, Khris E. (Shellie) Johnson, and his grandchildren: Scott L. Thomson, Kacee J. Alvord, Anthony R. Meyer, Jordan Meadows and Kymber C. Johnson and 7 great-grandchildren.
Bob attended Alica Bernard Elem. School and then Morgan Park Military Academy for High School both in Chicago, IL. He attained the rank of 1st LT. of Company C in the Cadet Corp. He joined the US Army Air Corp in 1944. After entering the service, he had spent time in Texas, Florida, Kansas, California, Colorado, and Utah. He was discharged from service at Fort Douglas in 1946. He then stayed and made his home in Utah. He was recalled back into the US Air Force for the Korean war; where he worked as a Gunnery instructor on B29’s; as he was Chief Gunner for the Remote Control Turret System during WW2, where he attained the Rank of Staff Sgt. He served in the Korean War from 1950 to 1951. Between WWII and the Korean War he was
employed at Cobusco Steel Company as Detail Clerk for reinforcing steel fabrication. After the Korean War, he then became a printing press mechanic for 4 yrs at Adressograph-Multigraph Corp. He then became a plate maker for offset printing plates the following 6 yrs. During 1960 - 1965 he ran a part time black and white tv repair service and in 1963 he operated a wholesale print shop in his home. In 1966 he ran a printshop for Sentinel Security Life Insurance Company for 6 yrs. In 1977 he bought Multiart Printing and operated until 1983. He then retired and moved to Myton which became his permanent home. He worked for 13 yrs as a part-time custodian at the Myton Elementary School and then permanently retired in 2001. He was a member of the Myton Post 5 of the American Legion. He raised all kinds of animals, enjoyed fishing, hunting and the outdoors. He enjoyed all of his “children”, pets, and friends, especially
Floyd & Jean Cox, Barbara Timmons and family; Kent & Marla Pieper and family; the Fowler boys; Don Myer; Floyd Nielsen; and John Madsen and Family.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hullinger Mortuary where a viewing will be held from 10-10:45 a.m.
Burial will be in the Myton City Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post #5 of Myton and the Patriot Guard Riders.
