Robert Lee "Bobby" Cuch

    Robert Lee “Bobby” Cuch, age 92, of Whiterocks, passed away October 6, 2017, at his home.
    He was born June 4, 1925, in Whiterocks, to Chauncey Cuch and Gennie Chum-chora. He graduated from high school and then went on to receive a certification in Welding.  He married Violet Mountain and she later passed away.  He married Emma Lou Johnson on July 23, 1958, in Ft. Duchesne.  She died May 1, 2014.
    Bobby worked for the Ute Tribe as a Policeman and then as a Fish & Game Officer for many years and then as a Bus Driver, retiring after 11 years.  He was also a rancher and really enjoyed riding his horse and working his cattle.  He liked to hunt, fish, and was a Sundancer and singer.  In his later years, he really loved spending time with his grandkids, in fact he was always with them.  He had many stories to tell and histories of the area and the people.  He will be deeply missed.
    Bobby is survived by his children, Myla (Amos) McCurdy, Whiterocks; Davis Tabbee, step-son, Jonas (Joy) Grant, Ft. Duchesne; sisters, Anita Jose, Laguna, NM; Pauline C Black, Angela Shavanaux; nieces, Deanna Penningjack, Clarinda Weston, Gayla Jack, Marella Jose; nephews, Patrick, Steven, John, & Randy Jose; grandchildren, Cody & Mitzi Wyasket, Naomi & Brayden McCurdy,  Candace & Eloy Cuch, Marlanna Cesspooch, Jonas Jr., John, Jonah, Jonna, & Jonie Grant; great-grandchildren, Kali Cuch, Preston and Kaison Jaminez, Chasey Santio, Jainylan Whyte, & Alfred Sowsonicut; great-great-grandchild, Clayson Cuch-Murray; and numerous grandchildren, relatives & friends near and far.  
    He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Lenora Cuch; children, Robert Cuch, Jr., an infant daughter, & Elio Cuch; brothers, Hugh & Roger Penningjack, and a grandson, Raynold Cuch.
    Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at the Whiterocks LDS Church.  There will be a wake on Monday at his home after 4:00 p.m.
    Burial will be in the Washington - Uintah River Cemetery.
