The funeral service will be live-streamed here.
Robert “Bob” Lee Crowley, age 78, of Ioka, passed away August 15, 2022, at home, surrounded by family.
He was born April 10, 1944, along with his “identical” twin sister Doris, in Ignacio, CO. They were born at home to his parents, Edwin T. Crowley and Iris Deane McCullough.
Later, his family moved to Cortez, Colorado, where he graduated from Montezuma County High School in 1963. In October the same year, his family moved to Utah with Bob driving the family tractor from Cortez, CO to Ioka, UT. He met the love of his life, Gayle Zobell, in October 1963, they married on February 22, 1964 and were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on February 23, 1965, for time and all eternity.
Bob was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, holding numerous callings including: high priest quorum, and counselor with the high priests.
Gayle’s grandmother always told her to never marry a lazy man. Bob was definitely not a lazy man. He worked outside no matter what the temperature was. He taught all his kids to work hard. Bob was a welder, backhoe operator, a truck driver and always a farmer. He started driving trucks in 1984 hauling milk, then crude oil for Morning Star, Iowa Tanklines, and Hosco, retiring when he was 67. Bob and Gayle then went into business with their son and were co-owners of Double C. Trucking. The second love of his life was farming, he had a love for animals. He served on the 4-H committee for numerous years, and helped each of his kids participate and learn great lifelong skills.
Bob loved life, and he loved nature. He was a man with great common sense and determination. He loved to fish, go hunting with his boys, skeet shooting with his family and just being in the mountains looking for deer and elk wherever he went. There was not anything he couldn’t do or figure out. He always did his best. He loved people, and helping anyone he could, even as a little boy, he was always helping others.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Gayle, Ioka,UT; His eight children: Vicki, Roosevelt, UT; Clint, Ioka,UT; Russell (Kim) Ioka, UT; Angie (Dave), Milliken, CO; SueAnn (Chris) Vernal, UT; Jeremiah, Roosevelt, UT; Ben (Stormy), Ioka, UT; Dusti (Jose), Lehi, UT.
