RHEA OWENS

Rhea Faye Hamilton Owens, age 68, of Lawrence, KS, formerly of Roosevelt, died peacefully at 1:00 PM on March 21, 2016 in Topeka, KS.
Rhea was born June 20, 1947 in Myton to Steve C. Hamilton and Arline G. Smith.
Rhea was a longtime resident of Utah and Las Vegas, before moving to Lawrence, KS in 2012. Rhea was an upholsterer, made draperies and worked as an interior designer. She was also an expert seamstress. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and always put her family first and foremost in everything she did. Rhea was a hard worker and a wonderful cook. She enjoyed literature and movies and was an avid genealogist. Rhea also enjoyed country music but in later years listened to classical music. She enjoyed knitting and crochet and liked to travel. She is well loved and will be missed by both family and friends.
She is survived by her sister, Alma (Carl) Brines of Bountiful; her children, Julie Owens, Junction City, KS; John Throneberry, Loganville, GA; Jo Throneberry. Kentucky; James Throneberry, Las Vegas, NV; Jessi Adelle Owens, Port Richey, FL; Samantha (Jazmin) Owens, Lawrence, KN; her grandchildren, Florea Throneberry, Edwina (Nicole) Owens, Amy Throneberry, Christina Owens, Chandler Lowery, great grandchildren, Damien, Draykin and Alexandria Owens.
Rhea is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Colburn "Steve" Hamilton, Elva Rae Hamilton Jensen , and Thomas James Hamilton.
Funeral services held Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. the Roosevelt 1st and 4th Ward Chapel. Viewings will be held on Friday evening at the Hullinger Mortuary from 6 - 8 p.m. and Saturday 1 hour prior to the service.
Burial in the Roosevelt Memorial Park.
