After many years of a courageous battle with cancer, Regina “Gina” Curry Livingston, age 63, of Roosevelt, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family. She left on November 9, 2016 to be with relatives and loved ones.
She was born January 12, 1953, to Richard H. Curry, Sr. and Refelia Smith.
Gina spent many years in the Salt Lake Valley. She was an accomplished computer engineer and worked many years for Edo Western and Zevex. One of her greatest achievements was when she helped build the device NASA needed for locating the remaining pieces of the Space Shuttle Challenger.
She was a member of the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe from Nixon, Nevada. She enjoyed playing with her grandchildren, attending Pow Wows, and hunting with her father and brothers. Being a member of the American Indian Movement, she participated in the “Longest Walk” to Washington, DC.
No matter what, she never judged anyone for their faults, and was quick to come to the rescue, even if she didn’t have the means.
Regina is survived by her children, Raymond DeHerrera, Annie Rosalez, Roberta DeHerrera, Joseph Livingston, all of SLC; grandchildren, Raul “Pooh Bear” Charbonier, Leticia DeHerrera, Gene & Gina Spight, Jacqueline Livingston, Elicio Romero; father, Richard Curry Sr., mother, Refelia Smith, both of Roosevelt; sister Rayma Curry, SLC brothers, Richard Curry Jr., Roosevelt; Ralph Curry, Wyoming; Royce (Peggy) Curry, Roosevelt; Rudy Curry, SLC; Rory, Ryan & Ronnie Curry, all of Roosevelt; Reggie (Victoria) Curry, Arizona; and Kenneth Frost, Ignacio, CO.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Livingston; step-mother, Yvonne Curry; brother Raymond Curry; adopted sister, Kathleen Hatch, grandparents, Oran F. Curry, Della Curry, Harry Smith, Lorena Conde, nephews, Thomas Curry & Redstone Curry, and many relatives and loved ones.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 14, 2016, at 10:00 a.m., at the Randlett Episcopal Church. A viewing will be held at the Hullinger Mortuary on Sunday from 2-4 p.m.A wake will be held at her daughter, Roberta’s, home located at 180 North 300 West , Roosevelt.
Burial will be in the Ft. Duchesne Cemetery under direction of the Hullinger Mortuary.
