Penny Chapoose

    Molly Penny Chapoose, age 57, of Roosevelt, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018, at her home.
    She was born March 10, 1961, in Roosevelt, to Thomas, Sr., and Clarice Shavanaugh Chapoose.  
    Penny was a very kind person who had worked at Berry Petroleum as a secretary for many years.  She really enjoyed barbequing, playing sports, especially basketball and softball, taking selfies with her granddaughters, making necklaces, earrings, baking with her grandkids, having movie days, and going to the mountains.   She liked her Harley Davidson motorcycles, attending Pow Wows, doing needlepoint, going to Wendover, teasing and joking with everyone and loved her Mexican food – she had to have her LaCabana. She loved her children, grandchildren, and her little dog, Skittles.
    She is survived by her children, Lona (Robert) Johnson, Lonnie (Iktomi) Favel, both of Whiterocks Road; Nina (TJ) Sowsonicut, Neola; 10 grandchildren; mother, Clarice Chapoose, Yellowstone Subdivision; brother and sisters, Susan Chapoose, Yellowstone Subdivision; Rick Chapoose, Sr., Ft. Duchesne; Peggy (Royce) Curry, Independence; Yvonne (Ted) Summarell, Washington; Yvette Chapoose, Ft. Duchesne, and Cody Thompson, Whiterocks Road.
    She was preceded in death by her son, Jackie Murray; her father, Thomas Chapoose; sister, Vickie Chapoose; brothers, William James Chapoose; Thomas Carnes Chapoose; grandparents, James Shavanaugh; Molly Aragon Shavanaugh, Lilly Reed Wash, Lester Mac Chapoose; Chalmers Wash, and Carnes LaRose.
    Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at the Lapoint Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  There will be a wake at the Ft. Duchesne Gym after 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
    Burial will be in the Ft. Duchesne Cemetery.
