Peggy Ann Barela, age 72, of Randlett, passed away August 21, 2015, at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City from complications of Leukemia.
She was born September 20, 1943, in Vernal, to Austin and Hazel Christine Izor Wardle. She married Henry James Barela on December 1, 1966, in Evanston, Wyoming.
Peg, as known by everyone, owned and operated "Peg's CafAC." in Randlett for over 28 years. She was a workaholic, which worked well because she ran the cafAC. usually by herself. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, making ceramics, carving gourds, and crocheting afghans, which she sold and gave away hundreds. She also liked to travel - Wendover and anywhere with an ocean being her favorite places. She loved and adored her children and grandchildren.
Peg is survived by her husband of 48 years, Henry, of Randlett; daughter, Jamie Reeves, Vernal; son, Hank James Barela, Randlett; grandchildren, Brandilyn Reeves (Jared McCurdy); Jacob & Tyler Reeves; great-grandchildren, Aiden Dilworth and Haven McCurdy; and a brother, Rae (Lou) Wardle, Neola.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Austin & Hazel; brother Austin Lee Wardle and a sister, Betty Rae Jensen.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., at the Randlett LDS Chapel. There will be a viewing on Friday at the Hullinger Mortuary from 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church.
Burial will be in the Leota Cemetery.
