Patricia Hooley

Patricia "Patt" Rose Hooley, age 71, of Roosevelt, flew with the angels on July 5, 2015, surrounded by her family, after a long battle with cancer.
She was born May 12, 1944, in Kenilworth, Utah, and was adopted by her parents Joe and Winnifred Shepherd. A few years later, Joe passed away and Winnifred married Davis Stewart, making him the second of two loving dads who raised her.
Patricia spent many years in California surfing the ocean and spending time on the beaches. She was a very talented hair dresser, working at the Coronado Beach Resort. She later moved to Utah and began working at Geneva Steel where she met the "Love of Her Life," Steve Hooley. They were married in 1980. Together they started their life by moving to Roosevelt. She was employed at the Duchesne County Hospital and cherished her friendship with all of her co-workers. Patt loved camping, and her greatest joy in life was being with her children and grandchildren, whether it was watching them play in the mud, riding the jet skis, or being a passenger in the paddle boat as they would take her around the lake. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, and making many things for her family. She would spend countless hours making memories with her family and friends, including dancing and singing.
Patt is survived by her husband of 35 years, Steve Hooley, Roosevelt; sons, John (Jossy) Hardesty, West Jordan; Kevin Hooley, Pleasant Grove; daughters, Karrie (Gordon) Orr, Showlow, AZ; Kristin Trane (her son, Jake Trane "Little Man") Spanish Fork; Nicole (Garland) Todd, Roosevelt; Cindy Harris, Spanish Fork; a sister, Margo (Chuck) Lewis, Salt Lake City; a brother, Gale (Leena) McCurdy, Goodyear, AZ; 15 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. She has a special love for her aunts and cousins that brought her much joy.
She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Tripp Boren.
Per her wishes, she will be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 17, 2015, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church in American Fork, 75 North 100 East. Please join the family in remembering Patt.
