Norman Lynn Gardner, age 91, of Neola, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at his home with his family by his side.
Lynn was born August 7, 1925 in Neola to Lester and Rose Zina Bowen Gardner. Lynn joined the Navy his senior year and served during WWII, seeing a lot of the world, he was proud to say he had crossed the equator 2 times. He married Coleen Bastian on May 21, 1951 in Elko, Nevada. They were sealed May 21, 1968.
Lynn loved the outdoors, some of his favorite past times were ranching, snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, fishing, hunting, camping, working with his cows, spending time at Chain Lake, Fox Lake and about anywhere in the Uintah Mountains. He was a carpenter, did cement work and worked in the oil field various times through the years. He was a temple worker in the Vernal temple for 13 years.
He is survived by his wife, Coleen Gardner, son, Shane (Gail) Gardner, and daughter, Linda (Jeff) Horrocks, 10 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren with 1 more on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents, children, Louise Smith, Cindy Gardner, grandchildren, Cole Horrocks, Brandi Gardner, great grandchildren, Jaxson Miles, Katie Gardner, brothers and sisters, Lamar Gardner, Darrell & Naomi Gardner, Thelma & Arthur Orr, LeRoy & Toni Gardner, and Virginia & Corwin Labrum.
Funeral services held on Friday, December 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Neola LDS Chapel. Viewings held on Thursday evening at the Hullinger Mortuary from 6 - 8 p.m. and Friday at the church 1 hour prior the service.
Burial in the Roosevelt Memorial Park with military honors presented by the Roosevelt American Legion.
