Noland James Bergstrom, age 80, of Talmage, passed away in his home on January 2, 2025. If you knew him you loved him.
He was born August 31, 1944, in Salt Lake City, to Walter and Mary Juanita Nielsen Bergstrom. He was an adventurous boy and young man while growing up in Kearns, UT.  He loved and played all kinds of sports: football, baseball, and even set a few track records at Granger High School.
After high school, he served an LDS mission to Alaska and the western part of Canada.  He loved the area and the people, and they loved him. He missed multiple flights home to say goodbye to those he came to know and love. Two weeks after arriving home he was drafted to serve in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
He met the love of his life, Sally Joyce Grissom while stationed at Fort Campbell in Kentucky. He married her on March 1,1968, in Clarksville, Tennessee. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on March 13, 1968. She died December 30, 2023, and he missed her dearly.
Noland worked as a kiln burner at Portland Cement for years until it was closed and then used that same knowledge disposing of hazardous materials waste until he retired.
Besides his great love of sports, especially football, and baseball; he also loved to go fishing. He would go out anytime of the year, in any weather to cast his line even into his old age. He also hunted in his younger years, and taught his sons; and as they began hunting, he left his rifle behind, and did his shooting with a camera.
He was a jack-of-all trades and could fix anything. He lived by the philosophy that you could fix anything with a little Duct Tape and Shoe Goo.
Noland loved his grandkids and they all felt it in the ways he spoiled them. His quick wit, sarcasm, and great stories while sitting around the campfire or casting a line will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his children: Bobbi (Paul) Bird, Riverton; Clint Bergstrom, West
Jordan; Annette Bergstrom, Talmage; Bart (Leah) Bergstrom, Cedar City; 18 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; siblings, Gaylyn (Shirley) Bergstrom, Kaysville; Keith (Marilyn) Bergstrom, Holladay; Jeniel (Louis) Skaug, Logan; Merrilyn (Scott) Beal, Kaysville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Noland was preceded in death by his wife, Sally; a brother, Gerald “Jerry" Bergstrom; his parents; and a great-granddaughter, McKenna Bird.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the
