Myra Aleda Mitchell

 
Myra Aleda Iorg Mitchell, age 97, passed away peacefully at home on November 12, 2017.  
She was born April 8, 1920 in Upalco to Claude Herschel and Irene Dora Potts Iorg. She graduated from Roosevelt High School and served in the Marine Corp during WWII.  She married Scarboro “Scotty” Cartrette on December 24, 1943, later divorced.  She returned to the Uintah Basin and married Roy L. Mitchell, on February 5, 1949.  She worked as a nurse at Roosevelt Hospital and retired after 25 years of exemplary service.
She is survived by her husband, Roy, children, Kim & Karen Cartrette, Claudine & Richard Grimsdell, Travis & Terri Mitchell, Shane & Julie Mitchell, son-in-law, Roger Brewer, brother, Milton “Mick’ Iorg, brothers-in-law, Leo Ames and Bruce Goodrich.  She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.  
She was preceded in death by daughter, Sheryl Cartrette Brewer, granddaughters, Karen Nicola Cartrette, parents, five brothers, Howard, Herschel, DeVere, Marion, Robert and five sisters, Wilma, Beryl, Rae, Betty and Shirley.
Funeral services will be held at the Altamont LDS Chapel, Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.  Viewings will be held at the church on Friday from 7 - 9 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m.
Burial in the Upalco Cemetery with military honors presented by the Altamont American Legion and the Marines Navy
