Mitchiel Ralph “Mitch” Hall, age 80, of Roosevelt passed away on January 25, 2023, surrounded by his family at the Intermountain Medical Center in Salt Lake City. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Mitch was born in Vernal, Utah, on January 22, 1943 to Ralph J and Lasca Ainge Hall. He had two brothers and one sister whom he loved dearly. Growing up in Vernal he loved to be with his family and began working his first job at the Vernal Hotel as a dishwasher. He loved doing whatever he could to help and support his family. He was always taking care of his younger sister, Lois.
He never shied away from hard work and taught this quality to his entire family. After graduating from Uintah High School, he began working on the oil rigs. Sometime later he entered into the army during Vietnam and bravely served for about two years. He was grateful for his time there, but happy to return.
In 1968, he met his wife and love of his life, Dixie Sue Phillips. They married on March 10, 1969 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together Mitch and Dixie raised three children. As a family they enjoyed fishing, boating and his favorite hobby, raising chickens and pigeons. Mitch was very social and loved visiting and having coffee with friends.
Mitch had a long running and well respected career in the oil and gas industry for over forty years. At the time of his retirement, he was a regional manager at Dominion Oil and Gas.
One of his greatest passions was cars and he loved his red Camaro. He really enjoyed taking care of his birds, country music, caring for his family, and Sundays at church listening to his son preach.
Mitch prided himself on being a grandfather. He will be greatly missed and revered for the legacy he left behind.
Mitch’s family would like to thank all who have expressed love and support to his wife, Dixie and family. We would like to thank his friends, colleagues, neighbors and church members of Roosevelt Baptist Church as well as Roosevelt Christian Assembly. Your encouragement, prayers and support are greatly appreciated.
We would also like to thank the staff of Uintah Basin Medical Center, The Veteran’s Affairs, Heber Valley Rehabilitation Center, and Intermountain Medical Center. We appreciate each one who worked to help our Dad enjoy every day of his life.
Mitch is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dixie, of Roosevelt; children, Stacy Hadlock, Roosevelt; Lanie (Daryl) Hancock, Wolf Creek, NC; Rennie Hall, Roosevelt; 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren with one on the way; a sister, Lois Lems, Bluffdale; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Rennie Hall & DeWard Murray; and a brother-in-law, Henry Lems.
