Mary Ann Quiyaga Perank, age 91, of Ft. Duchesne, passed away October 29, 2023, at her home.
She was born June 7, 1932, in Ft. Duchesne, to John Crow Tuck and Sarah Wilson. She married Leon Perank on June 7, 1955, in Ft. Duchesne. He died February 12, 2020.
Mary worked as a dental assistant and as a nurse for the Ute Indian Health Services. She had attended the Sherman Indian School and then trained to be a nurse in Oklahoma.
She was very kindhearted and only argued with her son, and husband before he died. She enjoyed traveling all over the region to attend Pow Wows and her favorite place to eat was Denny’s. She really loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially watching all of their sporting events.
Mary is survived by her only child, John (Carole) Angel; grandchildren, Anee Angel, Johnny “Waunkas” Angel, Emra Arkansas, Haley Burnett, Cherokee (Jordanelle) Angel, Nikki (Johnny) Sfreddo; numerous great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon, and her parents.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Ouray-Tabbee Cemetery. There will be a viewing on Wednesday at the Hullinger Mortuary until 5:00 p.m and on Thursday from 9:00-10:00 a.m. There will not be a wake.
