Martha Matilda Turner, age 90, of Roosevelt, passed away September 5, 2017,
at the Uintah Basin Medical Center.
She was born June 5, 1927, in Lindale, Texas, to Earnest Absy and Allie Adelia
Sims Baggerly. She married John Wesley Emmons and they later divorced. She married
Luther June Peebles, and they later divorced. She married George Turner, and he
passed away.
She was a hard worker and was a strong, kind, and loving woman. She was a
fierce protector of her family and they were the world to her. She enjoyed going to the
dances, and was a great cook. She loved life!
Martha is survived by her children, John Wesley Emmons, New Caney, TX;
Martha June Atwood, Las Vegas, NV; Mark Vernon (Cindy) Peebles, Pasadena, TX;
Annette Diller, Houston, TX; 6 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Thomas Baggerly, Dallas, TX; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Charlotte and daughters Loretta Sue Peebles and Shirley Ann Peebles.
