Manuel Lucero

   Manuel Lucero, age 59, of Whiterocks, passed away January 14, 2018, at his home.  
    He was born September 23, 1958, in Roosevelt, to Pete Lucero and Margaret Queacut.  He married LouAnn Cuch, and they later divorced.  He married LaDoris Taveapont, they later divorced, but stayed together until his death.  He loved his “Dorie.”
    Manuel worked as a driller on oil rigs, and enjoyed, fishing, traveling around in the mountains, and barbequing.  He was a major character and had a great sense of humor that made everyone laugh.  He loved his children, his grandchildren, and his dogs, Shorty, Fred, Red Cloud, and Manny!  He was a #1 Dad!
    Manuel is survived by his children, Jeremy (Jennifer) Gayler, Vernal; Ottumn (Carlos) Alcantara, Seattle, WA; Holly Lucero, Julian Lucero; step-children, Kendra (Jeremiah Hodges) Lucero, all of Whiterocks; Megen (Redd Rock Serawop) Bell, Ft. Duchesne; Jaron Taveapont, Whiterocks; Brandy (Anthony Mendez) Christensen, Ft. Duchesne; Courtney Chegup, Randlett; 21 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild; brother and sisters, Robert Lucero, Carolyn Lucero, Rose Hernandez, Roberta Lucero, all of Vernal; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
    He was preceded in death by his, parents, Pete & Margaret; and a sister, Yola Lucero, grandfather Ed W. Queacut, Sr., , step-mother, Leona Lucero, son-in-law Uriah Greyeyes, brother-in-law, Raymond P. Cabututan, uncle, Robert Reed aunt, Linda Magana, and nephew, Steven Astorga,
A wake will be held on Thursday evening after 4:00 p.m. at the Whiterocks Community Building.
    There will be a luncheon and a viewing on Friday, January 19, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at the Whiterocks Community Building with a graveside service immediately following at the Randlett Cemetery.
