Lyle Earl Mullins, age 82, passed from this life July 29 2024, surrounded by family at his son’s home in Spanish Fork, Utah.
Born in Ogden, Utah, on October 16, 1941, to Horace “Moon” and Emma Rosella Mullins, he was the oldest of three sons, including his brothers Lloyd, and Larry “Kirk.”
On April 12, 1968, Lyle married his sweetheart, Tamra “Tami” Dee Rapich, in Woodscross, Utah. She died June 9, 2017.
Lyle kept very busy throughout his life, rarely making time to sit down. He spent his days working hard, driving semis to provide for his family, and doing endless handy projects around his house and yard. But, he also made time to play as hard as he worked. His free time was spent playing pool, wood working, boating with his family, spoiling his dogs, watching the Denver Broncos, playing cards, drinking Coke, and fishing with his best friends— Lloyd, Kirk, and Steve.
Lyle was honest to a fault, genuine, dependable, meticulously perfectionistic, goofy, deeply humble, and hugely devoted to his friends and family. He had a huge sweet tooth, which compelled him to keep his home well-stocked with soda, ice cream, and baked goods. He also had an infectious grin that stretched from ear to ear and a long list of silly sayings to keep everyone laughing. Lyle was a man of few words and spoke largely through his actions, teaching those who were lucky enough to know him by quiet example.
He is survived by his children, Marlo, Danny (Caycie), and Amy Jo; 11 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Tami, both of his parents, and his son, Brad. He will be profoundly missed.
