Lyle C. Larsen

Lyle Christian Larsen, age 73, known to family and friends as “Chris,” passed away on February 21, 2025, in Cottonwood, Arizona. 

 He was born October 28, 1951, in Roosevelt, Utah, to Arch and Grace Bell Larsen. Chris was married to Trea M Joe Burham on February 2, 1992, in Elko, Nevada. Trea, his partner in life, preceded him in death on November 24, 2020. 

 Growing up in Arcadia and Mt. Emmons, Utah, he was known for his mischievous spirit, earning him the nickname "Chris-I-want" from his family. Chris was a proud veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy from 1969 to 1973. During the Vietnam War he served as a Hospital Corpsman aboard a Navy hospital ship. 

 As a lifelong music enthusiast, Chris often had his guitar in hand. In his younger years, he enjoyed hitchhiking across the western United States with his guitar and loyal dog by his side. Music was always a significant part of his life, and he was often seen playing his guitar.

 Chris was a man of many interests, including a love for college sports – though he wasn’t a fan of professional leagues. Chris took up gun smithing, enjoyed visiting his friend, Odegaard, in Pennsylvania, and stayed in touch over the phone. His curiosity led him to documentaries, which he enjoyed deeply. 

 Chris worked briefly in the transportation industry and lived in Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, and Arizona. Throughout his life, he lived simply, not requiring much, finding fulfillment in the small things and the milestones of his family, especially his nieces and nephews. 

 Chris is survived by his siblings, Vivian Freston; Clifton (Norma) Larsen; Pam Whitehead; DyAnna (David) Abbott; his sister-in-law, Leslie Larsen; and many nieces and nephews. 

 He was preceded in death by his wife; an infant brother; his parents; his sister, Carol Blake; his brother, Robert Allen Larsen; and nieces and nephews, Stacey, Jason, Lyle, and Lloyd.

 Per his wishes, he will be cremated, and a small family gathering will be held at a future time for his burial.
