    Lucas Victor Gardner, age 56, of Denver, formerly of Ft. Duchesne, passed away August 14, 2020, at a hospital in Denver.
    He was born December 2, 1963, in Roosevelt, to Victor Gardner, Jr. and Elaine Saknikent.  He married Fredella Conetah and they later divorced.
    Lucas was a football player at Union High School in his younger days.  He was an avid fan of the Denver Broncos, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, singing Pow Wow songs, riding around on his bike, shopping, helping others, hang out with his friends, draw and go to movies.  He was a happy and always smiling person who liked to joke around.  His favorite food was chili and he looked forward to going to the Denver March Pow Wow every year.  
    Lucas is survived by his children, Abby (Brian) Kemp, Roosevelt; Niki (Wade) Whitewolf, Myton; Eric, of Salt Lake City; grandchildren, Sahles, Shyanne, Kylee, Lenora, Nakyla, Zindell, Morningstar, Wade Jr., and Wyatt; foster-parents, Blaine & Ellen Argyle, Randlett; siblings, Vickie Snyder, Wyoming; Wayne (September) Gardner, Whiterocks; Troy Gardner, Idaho; Todd (Kara) Mair, Whiterocks; Blaine Merkley, Dean Mair, Victina Gardner, Roosevelt; June Gardner, Denver; foster-siblings, Lori, Lois, Lana, Lynn Argyle; and numerous nieces & nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Elaine Gardner; children, Desiree & Sheila Chase-Alone; family members, Isabelle, Lester Jr, & Lester Sr Chapoose; Willard Sr., Guy Sr., Tammy, Justin “Gus”, & Michelle Gardner; Victor Larsen; Alvin Longhair; Alta Appenay; Kevin Michael House; Kalub Brock; Antonia Carlos; Frank, Lanore, Linda, & Andar Shoyo; Robert Jack; Yvonne Curry; Estina Sanchez; Shayla & Terix Manning.
    Graveside services will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at the Ft. Duchesne Cemetery.  There will be a wake at Gilbert Gardner’s home, 3800 North 4500 East, Whiterocks; on Wednesday after 4:00 p.m.
