Loren F Sleight

Loren F Sleight passed away peacefully Saturday February 5, 2022 on his 88th Birthday as a result of cardiac arrest. He was surrounded by his beautiful wife and their three children.

He was born at home in Ovid, Idaho on February 5, 1934 along with his identical twin brother Lynn R Sleight, to Roscoe Kelsey Sleight and Julia Elsie Rohner.

He was raised on a farm where he learned to work hard. After graduating high school, he was drafted into the United State Army. He married his sweetheart Wilma Jean Diamond on January 10, 1963 in the Logan Temple.

Loren was a surveyor for the US Bureau of Reclamation for 33 years. He loved camping, fishing, boating, hunting, western music, dancing, gardening, wood working, and motorcycling. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved doing temple work, sharing the gospel, serving others, and was a true example of how to show Christ like love.

He enjoyed retirement for 35 years, he and his sweetheart Wilma went camping throughout the summers visiting some of their favorite places, Strawberry Reservoir, Rock Creek, Split Mountain, Yuma, Diamond Fork, and Capitol Reef National Park, where they were able to meet lifelong friends. Loren loved his family deeply and spent much of his later years surrounded by his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Wilma Sleight, his children Kevin Sleight, Darin (Donelle) Sleight, Glenna (Duane) Boren, 10 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren. He is now with his parents, older brother Grant, and his twin brother Lynn.

A Viewing will be held on Friday, February 11th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Utah Valley Mortuary located at 1966 West 700 North, Lindon, Utah. Graveside Services with Military Honors will be held on Saturday, February 12th, at 12:00 pm, at the Ovid Cemetery, Ovid, Idaho.
