LJ Ankerpont-Taveapont, age 40, of Ft. Duchesne, passed away April 10, 2021, in Roosevelt.
He was born May 14, 1980, in Roosevelt, to Elliott Jay Ankerpont and Jane Taveapont.
LJ always enjoyed being on Facebook, Snapchat, taking selfies, traveling, gambling, going to mudbogs, and attending Pow Wows. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He participated in the opening ceremonies of the Salt Lake 2002 Winter Olympics. He had several “furbabies” and also collected Beanie Babies. He lived his life the way he wanted.
LJ is survived by his mother, Jane Taveapont, Ft. Duchesne; siblings, Jawslynn Steele, Cody Thompson, all of Ft. Duchesne; cousins who were like sisters, Heather Cesspooch, Annie Jenks, both of Roosevelt; RoJeana Taveapont, Ft. Duchesne; nieces and nephews, Jayson Jr, Conrad, Darwin, & Rochelle Belding; Marcos, Zuhailey, Mateo Cesspooch, Emily Bluefeather Jenks; aunts and uncles Sonja Wopsock, Whiterocks; Katherine (Earl Sr.) Manning, Indian Bench; Nancy Thompson, Ft. Duchesne; Raymond Taveapont, Ft. Duchesne; Vivian Bedonie, Roosevelt; Joliet Ignacio; Geneva Ankerpont, Don Taveapont, Roy Ankerpont and their families.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elliott Ankerpont; grandparents, Carrie & Ray Taveapont, Clara Ankerpont; “big brother,” Jessie Miller; step-father, Herbert Steele; other relatives, Rosemary Thompson, Ingrid & Hank Wopsock; Gregory Taveapont; Rose Tadosha Van; Nicholas, Earl J, & Alex Manning; Trooper Jenks; Del Wopsock; Marjorie Tapoof; Raquel, Steven, & Gean Ankerpont.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at the Whiterocks Gym. There will be a wake at the Gym after 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
Burial will be in the Red Knoll Cemetery.
