Leslie Copperfield Brown, age 61, of Roosevelt, passed away September 23, 2018, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born January 30, 1957, in Roosevelt, to Dwight Copperfield and Alice Oarum. She married Ralph LeRoy Brown and he died December 14, 1985.
Leslie worked as a waitress at the Bottle Hollow Restaurant and later as a teacher at the Ute Tribe Headstart. She loved her kids and grandkids and spent most of her time taking care of them. She enjoyed traveling with her daughter and in her younger days danced at Pow Wows.
She is survived by her daughters, Starlene & Sheena Brown, of Roosevelt; 7 grandchildren, Yesenia Peimbert, Haley Chavez, Malena Palmerin, Blake Nez, Jr., Treven Nez, Ivanna Nez (Cameron), 2 great-grandchildren, Emma Nez, Neveah LaRose, all of Roosevelt; a sister Percelinia Howell, Richardson Subdivision; nephews Danny (Christine) Howell, Seattle, Washington; Gordon Howell, Roosevelt; Henry (Dondie) Howell, Ft. Duchesne; a niece, Dalene Copperfield (Lloyde) Miller, Richardson Subdivision and many nieces & nephews..
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; her parents; grandsons, Draven & Iran Nez; siblings, Hank “BearBoy” LaRose; Myra Copperfield Sinoben; nephew, Michael Gardner; nieces, April Gardner & Julie Howell.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at the John Harmes Cemetery in Whiterocks. She will be taken home for a wake on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
