Leon Morris

Leon Morris, age 69, of Vernal, Utah, passed away January 22, 2023, at the Ashley Valley Regional Medical Center in Vernal.
    He was born August 8, 1953, in Roosevelt, to LaVor Leon and Bernice Elouise Hackford Morris.   He married Gene Marie “Tiny” Christensen on April 27, 1973, in Ft. Duchesne. 
    Leon worked for many years as an oilfield construction welder, a roustabout, a worker for Vernal City, and a Cowboy for the Ute Tribe Cattle Enterprise.   He really enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and anything to do with his horses.  He loved spending time with his grandsons.
    Leon is survived by his wife of 49 years, Tiny Morris; a daughter, Magen (Thomas) Escalanti, Myton; grandchildren, Tyson Cesspooch , Nick Valdez; brothers and sisters, Marie (John) Sadlier; Harold Morris; Caroline (John) Woods; Vickie (Guy) Litster; and several nieces & nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his sons, Stacy and Jamie Morris; parents; and his brothers, Roger, Vern, LeRoy, & Michael Morris; and his favorite dog, “Bear.”
    Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hullinger Mortuary where there will be a viewing on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and on Friday from 10-10:45 a.m.
    Burial will be in the Altonah Cemetery.
