Lena Daniels

Lena Almyra Elmer Daniels, age 95, of Roosevelt, passed away on June 7, 2015, at the Uintah Basin Senior Villa.
She was born March 31, 1920, in Hayden, to Grant and MyrtleViolet Mitchell Elmer. She married John Daniels on December 23, 1935, in Vernal.
Lena worked at Smiley's Clothing store in Roosevelt; Wing's, Brotherson's, and Larsen's - all the same grocery store, just the names changed, in Ft. Duchesne. She was an avid reader, and was involved in the local Culture Club and other ladies' clubs. She enjoyed traveling, "snowbirding" in Arizona, attending family reunions, camping, and going on long rides with John in the mountains. She was a great Dutch oven cook and would take it with her every time she went to the mountains. She loved her family and being with them. She watched as many football, baseball and other sports games of her children and grandchildren as possible and she was proud of all of them.
She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and attended the Vernal LDS Temple as often as possible.
Survived by her children, Richard E. (Joanne) Daniels, Clinton; Daryl L (Jeanne) Daniels, Chandler, AZ; Marilyn (Roger) Griffin, Neola; 21 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren, 35 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, LaRene (Donald) Laris, Roosevelt.
Preceded in death by her son, Terry, a daughter, JoLean Lujan; grandchildren, Johnny Daniels, Pepper Daniels; Rhonda & Ferron Young; and a great-granddaughter, Virginia Van.
Funeral services held Saturday, June 13, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the Ballard LDS Chapel.
Burial will be in the Daniels' Family Cemetery.
