    Lee Heber Moon, age 70, of Duchesne, passed away June 11, 2023, in Pleasant Grove of a sudden heart attack.
    He was born March 7, 1953, in Duchesne, Utah, to Elmer Ray and Arwella Caroline Pierce Moon. He married Kathy Mitchell on November 21, 1975, in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
    Lee was an extremely hardworker who, from the time he was young, ran a cattle ranch, currently working 500 head of cattle. He was also the manager for the East Duchesne Water District and had been a general contractor – building two homes in Duchesne. He was most at ease outdoors, whether it was checking the cattle, moving sprinklers, or cutting the hay. He was a very intelligent and kind man who could talk to anyone. He was a very loved son-in-law and brother-in-law. 
    He supported and attended everything that his children were part of, whether it was drill team, cross-country, basketball, or some other activity. He was devoted leader in Boy Scouts and served as Scoutmaster in his ward helping many, including all of his sons, achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. He had also been an ordinance worker in the Vernal Temple. He adored his wife, loved his children, and couldn’t get enough of his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed.
    Lee is survived by his wife of 47 years, Kathy; his children, Craig (Sina) Moon, Orem; Brant (Margaret) Moon, Grass Valley, California; Kevin (Kyra) Moon, Providence; Heather Moon, St. Louis, Missouri; 12 grandchildren; siblings, Maryetta (Garth) Hemming, Logan; Caroline Beth Woodward, Orem; Louise Thiebaud, Wichita, Kansas; Joyce (John) Eugster, Salt Lake City; Judy Bell, Jeremy Ranch; and numerous nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Jerry Moon.
    Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 16, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Duchesne 1st and 3rd Ward Chapel. There will be a viewing at the church on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and on Friday from 9:30-10:45 a.m.
    Burial will be in the Duchesne City Cemetery.
