LeAnn Adele “Cookie” Thompson Reed, age 59, of Whiterocks, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2019 at the University of Utah Hospital with her family by her side.
LeAnn was born March 22, 1959 in Roosevelt to Bennett Thompson and Colleen Marie Wash. She was raised by her parents, Charles and Colleen Redfoot. She married her best friend, Jerry Reed, June 26, 1985 in Ft. Duchesne.
LeAnn enjoyed cooking, baking her famous cookies, doing beautiful beadwork, spending time on facebook and being in the outdoors. She loved camping with her family at the family Sundance camp and the hunting camp. She enjoyed going hunting with her husband and daughters. Spending time with her sisters as they butchered the deer, dried the meat and tanned the hides. She had a real talent for gardening and producing lovely flowers every spring. She loved spending time with her grandchildren as her family was the most important thing to her. She cherished her beloved pets, Annabelle and Banjo. In her younger days she enjoyed playing basketball, volleyball and softball.
She worked most of her life for the Ute Tribe as a secretary for the Business Committee, Special Projects, Ute Lab and Emergency Employment.
She is survived by her husband Jerry Reed, daughters, LuAna Thompson, Ramalda Reed-Mountainlion, Jerilynn Reed, (Terrance Taveapont), Talia Reed, grandchildren, Graci, Cebron and Jace Mountainlion, Lilli and Kymani Starr, siblings, Ambie Redfoot, Nancy (Melvin) Redcap, Lelanie Redfoot, Dixie Redfoot, (Theron Noise), Stefanie Redfoot, (Ron Ailak), Cynthia Redfoot, all of Whiterocks; Marilyn Redfoot, (Anthony Vigil), SLC: Delanna Redfoot, Whiterocks; Bettina Redfoot, Ft. Duchesne; Ralph Tallbear, Duck Creek, OK; LuAna Herrera, Rebecca Thompson, Jogenia Thompson, Franklin Thompson, Shawn Thompson, Keith Thompson, all of Ignacio, CO; aunts and uncles, Marion Serawop, Dolly Cuch, Ginny Chimburas, Irene Gardner, Joe Tapoof, Adelbert Tavashutz, and Phil Chimburas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Colleen Redfoot, father Bennett Thompson, siblings, Darren Redfoot, Duane “Parker” Redfoot, Belle Redfoot, Everett Duncan, Jr., grandparents, Ruth Quinn, Archie Wash, Lucy Cloud Thompson, George Thompson, and nephew, Raynold Cuch.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at the Whiterocks Community Building. She will be taken to the Redfoot family residence in Whiterocks on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. for a wake.
Burial will be in the Reed Cemetery in Farmcreek.
