LaJean Neilsen Richman, age 84, died on August 15, 2020 at home in Neola, Utah
She was born on December 10, 1935 in Roosevelt to Clyde and Naturitch Neilsen. Being the oldest of eight children she had a strong bond with each and everyone of them.
She met Sandy (LaMar J Richman) her lifetime mate and partner in band class, at Roosevelt High School, she played the saxophone and he played the trombone. She was thirteen and he was fifteen. After courting for two years they were married on August 3, 1951. The were sealed for time and eternity on July 30, 1963 in the Salt Lake Temple. They had seven children.
Her family was most important to her, she always made sure they had what they needed. She opened her home to many who still call her mama LaJean. She loved taking her grandkids on adventures and they loved it too.
She taught us to live within our means and be thankful for our blessings. She passed on to her children as well as grandchildren many talents and skills, singing, writing poetry, beading, needle work, sewing and cooking.
She had a love for the outdoors, traveling and exploring the back roads of Utah, from the mountains to the desert, taking all who wanted to join her.
She was very proud of her Native American Heritage.
She had such a strong and powerful belief in her Heavenly Father. Her belief helped her through many challenging and sorrowful times.
LaJean is survived by her husband, LaMar J “Sandy” Richman, children, Larry (Cathie) Richman, LeiAn (Ray) Snyder, Lynda Myore (Randy Turner), Lana Cuch, numerous grand, great, and great-great grandchildren.
